POTW: Miltank

Type: Normal

With absolutly no competition, miltank sweeps this week's POTW. Curse you miltank, curse you! :D

Miltank, lol, what a joke =D... I mean, a pokemon worthy to be featured as POTW. Miltank, actually, isn’t too shabby. It has tank in its name, making its purpose obvious. Its special defense lacks more than its physical defense, but it still can do very well. It is BL, mostly due to the fact that blissey is a smarter choice with over 300 special defense and 714 hp, also having the same typing...Miltank does have something that Blissey does not have to offer. Heal Bell, will heal everyone on your team, of all ailments. (Unless they’re Koed) It also has milk drink, giving it a recovery move. It has two great abilities: thick fat (fire and ice moves are halved) and scrappy (normal and fighting moves will hit ghosts) This is very helpful when facing a ghost type, since it’s best moves are normal and fighting. It can be a surprise to an opponent too, when they mistake you for having thick fat, or did not know miltank had such an ability. (The only other poke to have it is Kangaskhan, but he is UU) So on to the moveset!

Item: Leftovers

EVs 252 Hp, 224 Def, 32 Spe

-Heal Bell
- Milk Drink
- Stealth Rock/ hammer arm/ earthquake
- Body Slam

Heal Bell gives support to the rest of your team, saving you turns of battle that it might have taken for them to heal themselves of their paralysis, burn, or etc. Milk Drink adds to survivability by recovering hp (duh) Stealth Rock is a great aid to any team. Hammer Arm a move to surprise ghosts if you’re using his scrappy ability. Earthquake seen a lot and just a generally good move. Body Slam gives you a surprise move to hits ghosts with, has paralysis chance, and has STAB. The choice of ability is up to you. Ice and Fire are used a lot, and scrappy will help you wall mismagius and gengar easy.

Miltank has a strange, yet helpful ability, and is great for tanking. It does not quite match up with Blissey’s walling abilities, but it can do things blissey can’t. I’ve never tried a Miltank before, and I don’t think I ever would have unless someone had voted for him. I guess I might try one on my team, they seem like an interesting pokemon.

POTW: Forretress

Results

Type: Bug/Steel

Sorry for the delay couldn't get on much cause of school. Forretress has amazing defense and...well that's about it. He is OU though and I have used one on my team before. They are extremely helpful and can wall ANY physical sweeper sent his way. His unique typing gives him a load of resistances and only one weakness. Another asset to making him a great defensive based pokemon. His only weakness is fire, which is usually seen on special attackers anyway which forretress will not want to be staying in on. His ability sturdy (1 hit KO moves don't work) is no good since OHKO moves are banned. It is great at setting up spikes and stealth rock and is even better at scaring away other pokemon as he switches in, racking up lots of damage from the spikes and stealth rock. He is more of a stalling pokemon, but can still tank very well. Definately a killer in the pokemon metagame, now the moveset:

Nature: relaxed

Item: Leftovers

EVs: 252 hp, 252 def, 4 at

 Moves:

-rapid spin

-toxic spikes/spikes

-explosion/reflect

-stealth rock/earthquake/gyro ball

Rapid Spin is a must and can eliminate the opponent's spikes and stealth rock, a very useful bonus. Toxic Spikes and Spikes toxic spikes really hurts those that try to stay in for a long time, but spikes will work better in the long run if your opponent switches a lot. It's up to you to decide which to use. Explosion OHKO a lot of pokemon (or just leave them fatally injured) and is great for a last resort. Reflect gives more defense to your team, forretress becomes near impossible to kill with a boosted defense stat. Stealth Rock another source of residual damage can wither down opponent's team when in combination with spikes. Earthquake does respectable damage to most everything and just a well seen move. Gyro Ball can pwn weaville and tyranitar, but really has no other use.

Overall, Forretress is an amazing physical wall and is primarily used to stall. He can learn both spikes and stealth rock, and is great for taking advantage of both of these. His attack and sp. att leave you groaning, but he can do respectable damage with explosion and gyro ball and earthquake depending on the pokemon. Watch out for the special sweepers because even a 252 sp. def Ev'd forretress will be taken down quite easily.
