POTW: Alakazam
Okay Alakazam: he has just as high Sp. Att. as Porygon-Z with one HUGE exception. His speed stat maxes out at 372! His other stats are pretty much a nightmare, but I guess his Sp. Att and Speed make up for them because this pokemon is located in the BL tier. With moves like: Psychic, Focus Blast, Shadow Ball, Trick, Counter, Calm Mind, Encore, and Charge Beam Alakazam can have huge differences in his movepool from trainer to trainer. He also doesn't need to put hismelf at a disadvantage like Porygon-Z with a choice scarf limiting him to only one move, however, choice specs are a popular choice on Alakazam also. He has two great abilities Synchronize (any status inflicted on Alakazam is also inflicted on the opponent's pokemon) and inner focus (Alakazam cannot flinch) His Ev spread however, cannot be changed around much.
Moveset:
Nature:Timid
Item: Choice Specs
EVs: 252 sp, 252 sp. att, 4 sp def
Ability: Synchronize
Moves:
-Trick
-Psychic
-Focus Blast/HP fighting
-Shadow Ball
Okay this is pretty close to the standard set that is seen with Alakazam with a few minor differences. You will notice trick and choice specs are a must on this set. Trick is there to just really shut down almost any poke that is not a sp. sweeper. Locking them into one move and you get the bonus of stealing their item. Psychic is pretty self-explanatory it's there for STAB. Focus Blast is stronger than HP fighting with a smaller pp number and less accuracy HP Fighting will still take out tyranitar and maybe another threat and you won't have to be praying that it won't miss. Shadow Ball covers all the types that Focus Blast and HP fighting don't hit.
Here's another:
Nature: Timid
Item: (your choice, but mine would probably be focus sash)
EVs: 252 speed, 252 Sp. Att, 4 sp. def
Ability: Synchronize
Moves:
-Psychic
-Focus Blast/HP fighting
-shadow ball
-calm mind
Almost exactly the same as the one above but however, now alakazam has more freedom with which move he wishes to use. All the moves are the same as explained above except Calm Mind this can make Alakazam a HUGE threat if he is able to set up (which takes a lot of prediction) You don't really need choice specs any longer because trick is no longer there and you have calm mind to help boost his already high Sp. Att. stat. This can make alakazam formidable against a large amount of walls because they rely on Sp. Att. moves to wear opponents down (however there are still a fair amount that use physical also)
As usual PM me if you have any suggestions/comments.
